In a press release yesterday, Electronic Arts announced that they would finally be bringing FIFA to Google Stadia. While that’s something we already caught wind of a while back, we finally have a release date — March 17, 2021!

FIFA 21 for Google Stadia

EA’s AAA title FIFA 21 is finally coming to Google Stadia next month. No doubt, FIFA is the most consistent franchise for Electronic Arts in-terms of both popularity and profitability.

Today, Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA)announced a multi-year UEFA license extension, ensuring the pinnacle of club football remains exclusive to EA SPORTS. EA is expanding football video game access through multiple in-development mobile offerings, and by broadening the PC free-to-download FIFA Online 4 title’s reach to potentially 80 million players in more than 15 new countries. Additionally, the franchise will launch on Stadia for the first time when EA SPORTS FIFA 21 is available on March 17 for Stadia.

To continue growing EA SPORTS FIFA fandom, providing players with more ways to play is paramount. The free-to-download FIFA Online 4 experience on PC, widely played in Asia, will be available for the first time in Russia, Poland, Turkey, and more, bringing the game to potentially tens of millions of passionate football fans. EA SPORTS FIFA 21 launches for Stadia on March 17 and will let players instantly play their favorite video games on screens they already own.

FIFA 21 was officially launched on 9th October 2020 on all the platforms. Later, EA launched the FIFA 21 Next Level version for the latest PS5, Xbox Series X|S. The “Next Level” version was launched with PS5 DualSense Haptic feedback, Push-Pull Physics, Responsive Multi-Touch Animations, LiveLight Rendering, and a lot of other features. In addition, it was a free upgrade for all the FIFA 21 owners.

The announcement isn’t a huge surprise. Last April, the company name-dropped three titles that would be coming to Stadia in the future: Madden NFL 21, FIFA 21 and the Respawn-developed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The latter was released on November 24th, more than a year after its debut on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. FIFA 21, meanwhile, came out last October for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Enhanced versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X consoles were then released a couple of months later. EA hasn’t revealed the nature of its Stadia port so far.
