all of Obligation: Black Ops – Cold War model new competitive mode, not getting connected to your favourite loadouts. League Play, a new ranked mode based mostly on the Call of Obligation League, launched yesterday with a stringent ruleset that bans over a third of Cold Battle’s arsenal.

It strips the game down to 4v4 even the standard multiplayer is at least 6v6, and puts restrictions on loadouts in a bid to recreate the ruleset used by professional players in the Call of Duty League. Fans have criticized Black Ops Cold War's version of League Play for not going far enough.
A pool of over 20 weapons was banned during Modern Warfare's tenure in the Call of Duty League. That pool also included every launcher, most shotguns, and single-fire DMRs. But in th case of competitive duty calling, players seem content with assault rifles, submachine guns, and basically nothing else. Call of Duty's awkward restrictions could be a consequence of a series that moves too fast for its creators to keep up.

League Play also carries over Black Ops Cold War's controversial streak system, which does not reset scorestreak upon death. Scorestreaks allowed in League Play include the RC-XD, Armour and War Machine.
